Sheldon, Iowa — A Primghar man has been arrested on felony charges.
A criminal complaint filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Sheldon Police says that 36-year-old Ethan Richards of Primghar is accused of possession of child pornography. He was arrested last week.
In his statement, the officer says a search warrant was carried out on Richards’ phone, where officers found pictures of two minors engaged in a sex act.
Richards faces two counts of purchase or possession of a depiction of a minor in a sex act, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison on each count.
He faces a court appearance on April 7th.
Richards was booked into the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar and was released the same day after posting bond.
