Public Works Director Highlights 2026 Street Projects In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — It’s said that Iowa has only two seasons. Snow removal and road construction. We seem to be winding down on snow removal season. That means road construction is next.

We talked to Sheldon Public Works Director Todd Uhl about the road construction projects in Sheldon this year. He says one of them is wrapping up work begun last year — and that’s Western Avenue.

He tells us when they think the work on Western may wrap up.

Uhl says that’s not the only thing going on this road construction season.

We asked him if they have any street resurfacing planned this year.

But wait, there’s more.

We asked him, in this line of work, how far ahead you have to plan. He says you can never plan too far ahead.

Uhl made his comments a while back on the KIWA Talk of the Town Program, which can be heard on weekday mornings at 8:30 on KIWA-FM 105.3. We also post a podcast of every Talk of The Town Program, and you can find those by clicking here.
