Quick Thinking Saves Payloader In Inwood Area Fire

Inwood, Iowa — A payloader was damaged in a fire on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, near Inwood.

According to Inwood Fire Chief Troy Van Beek, at about 3:30 p.m., the Inwood Fire Department was called to the report of a tractor fire at 2044 Cherry Avenue, two and a half miles north of the west side of Inwood.

The chief says the fire department saw smoke from the engine compartment as they approached the scene. He says the farmer had used a fire extinguisher and had the fire basically out by the time they arrived.
