Rock Valley, Iowa — It’s spring, and we’re in the busy time for area teens. Most schools held their proms, and graduations are coming up.
It’s this time of year that student drivers could use a reminder about driving safely, not driving distracted, and not driving under the influence.
Rock Valley High School officials tell us their students and those of Netherlands Reformed Christian High School were recently able to witness a mock car accident simulation put on by the Rock Valley EMTs, the Rock Valley Fire Department, the Rock Valley Police Department, and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Rock Valley Community School District officials tell us the students were able to experience firsthand what occurs in the case of a severe drunk driving accident. They also sent out a “thank you” to all the EMTs, firefighters, police officers and staff from Porter Funeral home who took the time to share what they called, “this moving experience.”
