Sanford Sheldon Doing Heart Screening On “Heart Day”

Sheldon, Iowa — Of course, February is American Heart Month, and what better time to think about your heart than on “heart day” — Valentine’s Day — February 14th.

Sanford Sheldon is going to be hosting a special heart and vascular screening that day. Lori Visker is the Clinic Director of the Sanford Heart and Vascular Screening Center, and she tells us about the event.

She tells us what kind of patient the screening is aimed at.

She says they will take walk-ins, but to limit your waiting time, appointments are best.

That number again is 605-312-2150. She tells us what your screening will be like.

Visker tells us what the vascular screening entails.

She says the heart screening takes about 30 minutes and the vascular screening also takes about 30 minutes, so if you’re doing both, it takes about an hour. They each cost $25, so for both, it’s $50.

Visker says you’ll get preliminary results from her team the day of the screening, but the results will also be read later by a cardiologist. If they find anything abnormal, they can set you up with your primary care provider or a cardiologist for further testing.

The screening appointments will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2024, at the Sanford Sheldon Clinic. Again, you can call 605-312-2150 to make your appointment.
