Aurelia, Iowa — Following Storm Lake Democrat Ashley WolfTorabane’s announcement earlier this week that she is seeking Iowa’s 4th Congressional District seat, Republican Senator Lynn Evans of Aurelia has now announced he will not be running for the election.
Senator Evans launched an exploratory committee in May regarding a possible run for the seat. This week, he announced his intention not to seek candidacy. He will instead seek re-election to the Iowa Senate next year. Senator Evans currently represents District 3, which includes O’Brien, Osceola, and Buena Vista counties, and portions of Cherokee and Clay counties.
Iowa’s 4th Congressional District is currently represented by Rep. Randy Feenstra. The Republican from Hull has announced an interest in running for Iowa governor, but has not officially announced his candidacy.
