Sheldon City Council To Discuss Changing Speed Limit On Hwy 18 At East City Limit

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.

On their consent agenda are minutes from the previous meeting, the claims list, financial reports to accept, the confirmation of Mayor Greg Geels’ appointment of Chase Lottman to the Rec Trails Board, a request for transient/peddler permit waivers for an open house/community event at Fieldcrest, a pay application for the upper story housing project, setting the time and place of a public hearing on the status of funded activities for that project, and setting hearings for the sale of vacated 13th Avenue right-of-way.

Unless a council member requests that an item be pulled out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, the entire consent agenda will be voted on in a single motion.

In new business, the council will have the first reading of an ordinance pertaining to speed limits on Park Street (that’s Highway 18) near the east city limits.

The council may go into closed session to discuss the potential purchase or sale of real estate.

The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers and is available on YouTube.
