Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.
On their consent agenda are the minutes from the previous meeting, the list of claims, a pay application for the Western Avenue project, a resolution approving the annual financial report, a resolution approving the annual urban renewal report, a request for street closure for the Christmas Parade of Lights on December 6th, and a resolution setting the date and time for a public hearing about the development agreement with the SCDC (Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation). Unless a council member requests that an item be pulled out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, the entire consent agenda will be voted on in a single motion.
In new business, the council will consider a resolution approving the adoption of the line of duty and off-duty death policy as an amendment to the City of Sheldon Personnel Manual, the rezoning of 331 North 5th Avenue to Arterial Commercial for a proposed addition to a building that is to be used for “convenience storage,” the rezoning of 415 West Park Street to residential multiple in anticipation of a planned multiple family residential development, resolutions and ordinances in support of the proposed rezonings, an ordinance amending the city code regarding provisions pertaining to public hearing requirements as the relate to zoning and subdivisions, and the second introduction of the capital improvements plan update.
