Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.

On their consent agenda are the meeting minutes from the previous meting, the list of claims, the approval of a liquor license renewal for Brady’s Pub, the approval of an ownership change for an alcohol license, the approval of a fire applicant, the acceptance of a resignation notice for the cemetery board, the mayor’s recommendation for council appointment for the airport commission, the mayor’s recommendations for the 2026 City Council committee assignments, a resolution approving fire service fees, a resolution approving the annual Village Northwest Unlimited fireworks display for July 2026, and the setting of a date and time for a public hearing on budget amendment for fiscal year 2025-26. In new business, the council will consider an ordinance shortening the Library Board of Trustees’ length of terms from six years to three years. The library board has approved the amendment.

The council will also discuss and approve resolutions for the Pape real estate transaction.

In reports, the council will receive the annual report from Children’s World and a report from the SCDC about the downtown presentation.
