Sheldon, Iowa — A garage and its contents were damaged in a fire on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Sheldon.
According to Sheldon firefighter Scott Ruden, at about 9:00 a.m., the Sheldon Fire Company was called to the report of a garage fire at 513 8th Street, in central Sheldon.
He says the fire department saw a small fire in the garage as they approached the scene. He says they used foam and water to fight the fire. Ruden tells us the main thing burning when they got there was a gas can with gas in it that had partially melted.
Ruden says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.
Ruden reports that there was light to moderate damage to the garage and its contents. He says some of the contents didn’t get damaged.
He tells us the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about a half an hour.
