Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon merchants held their annual Hot Dog Day on Monday.
Sheldon Chamber Director Trista Kavanagh says it was a great night. She says, “…the weather was beautiful, businesses were excited and we had a great turnout!”
The winner of the annual Top Dog Contest was JESS Food Service Equipment. To top their dogs, they served beans, brisket, cheese, onions, and chips.
Kavanagh says over 5,000 hot dogs were served.
Hy-Vee sponsored a hot dog-eating contest. Hy-Vee folks tell us the winner of that contest was Tyler Smith.
We at KIWA saw many smiling faces. Several people and at least a couple of four-legged friends enjoyed our hot dogs. Thanks for sharing some hot dogs with us!
