Sheldon Pair Face Felony Meth Charges

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon pair has been arrested on felony drug charges after a search warrant was carried out.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Sheldon Police Department, 48-year-old Brent Hauge and 46-year-old Jennifer Schultz, both of Sheldon are accused of the possession of drugs and other drug-related offenses. They were arrested on Friday.

In his statements, the officer says he found methamphetamine, over 100 small plastic baggies, and a digital scale at Hauge and Schultz’s home.

Hauge was charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, a class B felony, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a class D felony. If convicted, Hauge could face up to 25 years in prison on the class B charge and up to five years on the class D charge. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance, second offense.

Schultz was charged with failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a class D felony. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Hauge and Schultz face a preliminary hearing on the charges on Tuesday, September 10th.

At last report, the pair remained in the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar in lieu of bond.
