Sheldon’s K9 Balin Does Well At Trials

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon’s police dog has again done well in trials.

According to Sheldon Police officials, K9 Balin was recently certified in Narcotics Detection with the United States Police K9 Association. They tell us the certification testing was hosted by the West Des Moines Police Department, and K9 Balin participated alongside many of his fellow K9 officers from around the state. Sheldon Police officers tell us K9 Balin performed very well, and he was able to earn 3rd place overall. They say, “We are very proud of him!”

Balin is nearly 5-and-a-half years old and has been on the Sheldon PD since July of 2021.
