Sheldon’s New Water Tower In The Running For “Tank Of The Year”

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon’s new water tower is in a contest.

According to Sheldon Public Works Director Todd Uhl, the company from which the paint was purchased for the tower is holding the contest, which consists of water towers (called “tanks” in the water tower business) that were painted with the company’s paint.

Uhl says he doesn’t think there’s a prize or anything.

As Uhl says, the company chooses most of the winners, but there is a people’s choice award as well, so he invites people to vote for Sheldon’s water tower online. At last report, Sheldon’s water tower was leading the voting, but that could change.

Uhl says that sure, it’s a marketing tool for the paint company, but it’s some free marketing for Sheldon as well.
