Sioux Center, Iowa– A Sioux Center girl was taken to the hospital after an accident in Sioux Center on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 3:25 p.m., 61-year-old Jean McAlpine of Sioux Center was driving a 2024 Ford westbound on 9th Street Northeast near the Sioux Center Middle School, and due to vehicles angle-parked along the street, her vision was partially obscured. They tell us that
an 11-year-old girl from Sioux Center was didn’t see the car and ran from the entrance into the street, running into the car and leaving a dent. Her foot was trapped under a passenger-side tire.
The Sioux Center Ambulance took the girl to Sioux Center Health Hospital.
McAlpine’s Ford sustained $500 in damages. The cameras on the school helped the officer to determine what happened.
