Sioux Center Man Faces Felony Charge After Drug Bust

Sioux Center — A Sioux Center man has been arrested on a felony drug charge warrant after a bust earlier this year in Sioux Center.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, 30-year-old Peter Baccam of Sioux Center is accused of selling $400 worth of marijuana to two undercover agents. He was arrested on a warrant on Monday.

In his statement, the agent says that in March of this year, two Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement Special Agents, acting in an undercover capacity, met Baccam at his Sioux Center home. They say Baccam met the undercover agents in the driveway and sold them approximately 228 grams of marijuana for $400 cash. The marijuana was placed into evidence and submitted to the DCI Lab for analysis. This past April, the DCI generated a report confirming the 228 grams tested positive for marijuana.

Baccam was charged with a controlled substance violation, which, in this case, is a class D felony. If convicted, Baccam could face up to five years in prison. In addition, agents also found eight and a half grams of marijuana in the garage. He was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

He faces a preliminary hearing next Tuesday, August 5th.

At last report, Baccam remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $5000 bond.
