Sioux Center Man Sentenced To 10-Year Prison Term For Meth Distribution

Orange City, Iowa — A Sioux Center man faces a 10-year prison sentence for delivering meth.

According to Sioux County Attorney Thomas Kunstle, 49-year-old Efrain Marquez Ramirez of Sioux Center was sentenced for the crime of Intent To Deliver Methamphetamine, a Class C Felony.

In August 2024, Sioux County authorities began investigating Marquez Ramirez for suspected methamphetamine distribution. This investigation culminated in a search of his residence, where they discovered more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a scale, packaging supplies, and other evidence suggesting he was dealing the drug. Ramirez subsequently confessed to supplying methamphetamine to several individuals between August and December 2024.

Marquez Ramirez was sentenced to a 10-year indeterminate prison sentence, a fine of $1,370, plus a 15% surcharge and court costs. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is expected to take him into custody after he serves his prison sentence.
