Sioux Falls Main Airlifted To Hospital After Lester Area Crash

Lester, Iowa– A Sioux Falls man was taken to a hospital after a crash near Lester on Monday, December 15, 2025.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 10:20 a.m., 47-year-old James Boyda of Sioux Falls was driving a 2008 Chevy pickup eastbound on A26 or 180th Street, three miles south of Lester. They tell us that 65-year-old Kyle Knobloch of Luverne, MN, was northbound on K30 or Dove Avenue in a 2012 Freightliner semi.

The report says that Boyda failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by Knobloch

The Lyon County Ambulance took him to Avera Rock Rapids, and shortly thereafter, Sanford Airmed took him to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Knobloch reported no injuries.

The trooper says the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Lyon County Ambulance, Lester Fire and Rescue, and the Lyon County Secondary Roads Department assisted at the scene.
