Rock Valley, Iowa — A crash near Rock Valley Tuesday morning, May 27th, sent an Orange City man to the hospital.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office tells us that about 8:00 a.m., 54-year-old Bradley Vande Weerd of Orange City was driving a 2008 Peterbilt semi-tractor/trailer westbound on 340th Street, three miles southeast of Rock Valley, when he lost control of the vehicle, which rolled into the north ditch.
The Rock Valley Ambulance took Vande Weerd to Hegg Health Center.
The Peterbilt and trailer sustained approximately $80,000 in damage.
VandeWeerd was cited on a charge of failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The sheriff’s office tells us that the Rock Valley Fire Department, Rock Valley Ambulance Squad and the Rock Valley Police Department assisted them with the response to the crash.
