Hawarden, Iowa — We’re only at the precipice of September — and Halloween is fully two months away. But some people at Oak Grove Campground (and people who run discount stores) are already thinking of Halloween.
In fact, the deadline to sign up for part of this activity is actually this Tuesday, September 2nd.
Oak Grove does a fun activity every fall called the “Halloween Hike.” Kids can go trick-or-treating through the Oak Grove campground.
Organizers say the neat thing about it for the campers is that if they agree to hand out candy, they get to camp for free.
You can call 712-552-1047 to claim a spot for the October 11th Trick-or-Treat event. Each camper can register themselves and one other camper. Campers will receive Friday and Saturday night free camping in exchange for enough candy and goodies for about 800 kids per campsite.
