Sanborn, Iowa — A business that has become iconic in the area — especially during certain times of year — is celebrating 25 years.
To say Solsma’s Punkin Patch and Fireworks started out as “Solsma’s Punkin Patch” is close to the truth, but not exactly accurate. Amy Solsma tells us it was actually something completely different for the first couple of decades.
Solsma says she asked her father-in-law for a small patch of land to grow pumpkins on. But that small patch of land has grown, says Solsma.
She says they also sell fireworks around the Fourth of July and in December, and have sold them since they became legal in 2017.
She tells us about the 25th-anniversary celebration. She says they’ll be doing the same stuff, but with some special additions.
And she says on October 12 and 13, they’ll have the La Bamba Food Truck. Plus there will be more fun and exciting opportunities the last couple of weeks of October too.
Solsma wants to thank all of their customers over the years.
Solsma made her comments a couple of weeks ago on the KIWA Talk of the Town Program, which can be heard on weekday mornings at 8:30 on KIWA-FM 105.3.
