Des Moines – Some northwest Iowa entities are among 173 in more than 60 communities awarded funding through the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Arts and Culture Grants program.
The Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji was awarded $15,000 for operations support; the Orange City Arts Council is receiving $4,000 for a Japanese storytelling project; the Algona Community School district was awarded $3,400 for a bands recording project; and the Emmetsburg Main Street Community Theatre is receiving $5,000 to support its operations.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority last week announced awards of a little more than $1.67 million from seven grant programs to strengthen the arts, culture and creative industries across the state.
