Talk of the Town Podcast for February 24th

Today’s Talk of the Town podcast features our guest, O’Brien County Farm Bureau Board Member Brett Peelen, telling us about the new grain bin vacuum recently acquired for use in the four-county area in case of a farmer trapped in a grain bin.

Here is today’s Talk of the Town Podcast……

The O’Brien County Farm Bureau Board has purchased a grain vac to help with grain rescues in the four-county area of O’Brien, Sioux, Lyon and Osceola Counties. The plan is for the $32,000 grain vac and accessories to be housed with the Sheldon Fire Department, since Sheldon is at the center of the four-county area. The O’Brien County Farm Bureau Board is currently seeking donations to raise $10,000 to $12,000 to acquire an enclosed trailer, racking and tie downs, so all components can be stored in the trailer and it can be hooked to quickly to head out for a rescue. For more information, or to make a donation, please contact any O’Brien County Farm Bureau Board Member, or contact the O’Brien County Farm Bureau Office in Primghar at 712-957-2535.

Talk of the Town can be heard live at 8:30 am each Monday through Friday on KIWA-FM 105.3, and as a podcast at kiwaradio.com. Talk of the Town is brought to you daily by: Maintainer Corporation; State Farm Insurance Agent Nicholas Keen; Sanford Sheldon; Citizens State Bank in Sheldon and Boyden; and by Northwest Iowa Community College.
