Tennessee Man Arrested On O’Brien County Felony Burglary Warrant From 2021

Primghar, Iowa — A Tennessee man has been arrested on a warrant for burglary charges after an incident near Granville.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 46-year-old Jesse Whittaker of Palmersville, Tennessee is accused of burglary and theft from a farmplace about a mile east of Granville, back in January of 2021. He was arrested on the warrant on Saturday.

In his statement, the deputy says Whittaker entered a building to which he had no right or privilege to enter and took several air wrenches, tools, and a chainsaw.

Whittaker was charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft.

He faces a court date on November 12th.

Whittaker was booked into the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar, and was released the same day after posting bond.
