Three Accused Of Breaking Into Rock Valley Convenience Store

Rock Valley — Two Rock Valley men have been arrested on felony burglary and theft charges after an incident in Rock Valley.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Rock Valley Police Department, 23-year-old Roger Pineda of Rock Valley is accused of entering a convenience store after hours and taking merchandise. He was arrested last week.

In his statement, the officer says that using a key Pineda had stolen from an employee, Pineda entered the Pump n Pak convenience store in the early hours of April 3rd along with two other people, one of them a juvenile. Once inside the store beer, vapes, lottery tickets, and cash were stolen. The officer says the crime was captured on video by store surveillance cameras. The officer also says Pineda confessed his involvement in the crime to him. One of the other suspects was identified as 18-year-old Yesser Cardenas Carcamo of Rock Valley. The officer handling his arrest says that Cardenas Carcamo told him that he took part in entering the store but didn’t take anything.

Pineda was charged with third-degree burglary and theft of lottery tickets, both class D felonies. If convicted, Pineda could face up to five years in prison on each count. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Cardenas Carcamo was charged with third-degree burglary as well.

Both adult suspects face a preliminary hearing on April 15th.

At last report, both remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City, Pineda in lieu of a $10,000 bond, and Cardenas Carcamo in lieu of a $5000 bond.
