Two arrested following disturbance near Hospers

Hospers – Two people were arrested Thursday, Aug. 29th, after someone called 9-1-1 to report that someone was standing in the middle of Highway 60, four miles south of Hospers, IA.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s office tells us Miguel Cruz, age 35, of Minneapolis, MN and Wilson Shingue, age 30, of Colombia Hights, MN, that the responding officers discovered Cruz and Shingue causing the disturbance along Highway 60 and suspected they were intoxicated.

Cruz and Shingue were transported to the Sioux County Jail where they were charged with public intoxication and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. Additionally, five other passengers were also cited for open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, and Hospers Ambulance.
