Sheldon, Iowa — The 2024 Sheldon Homecoming Scholarship winners have been selected.
The Sheldon Chamber and Development (SCDC) Homecoming Scholarship Golf Tournament was this week. It helps raise funds for the scholarship, which was also awarded this week.
SCDC Exective Director Tania Herrera Gonzales tells us the two $6000 scholarships were awarded to two local community members.
She says they went to Alexa Nuese (Vanden Hull), who returned this summer to work at Lewis
Family Drug after completing six years at the SDSU College of Pharmacy; and to Austin Kavanagh who returned to Sheldon, also this summer, to become the Kindergarten through sixth grade gym teacher for East Elementary School. Kavanagh graduated from Iowa State University.
Herrera Gonzales says, “We are proud to have such wonderful people as a part of our Sheldon
community and workforce.”
