George, Iowa– A Boyden man and his passenger were taken to the hospital after a crash near George recently.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that 20-year-old Jefferey McClellan of Schaller was driving a 2020 Ford pickup eastbound on A34, six miles east of the Jurrens Funeral Home corner in George. They tell us that 45-year-old Gilpatrick Panuel of Boyden was northbound on Marsh Avenue in a 2005 Mercury.
The report says that Panuel failed to stop for the stop sign at 210th and Marsh Avenue and collided with the McClellan pickup in the intersection.
The Lyon County Ambulance took Panuel and his passenger to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.
McClellan’s Ford pickup sustained $12,000 in damages, and Panuel’s Mercury sustained $8000 in damages. Both vehicles were considered totaled.
Panuel was charged with failure to obey a stop sign.
