Two Taken To Sioux Falls Hospital After Crash South Of Larchwood

Larchwood, Iowa– A Larchwood man and a passenger were taken to a hospital after a crash near Larchwood on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 5:30 p.m., 30-year-old Steven Knape of Rock Valley was driving a 2011 Chevy pickup northbound on Highway 182, a mile south of Larchwood at the four-way Stop. They tell us that 27-year-old Trevor Rozeboom of Larchwood was also northbound on 182 in a 2011 Chevy.

The report says that Rozeboom was stopped for the stop sign at the four-way stop, when the Knape vehicle rear-ended the Rozeboom vehicle.

The Lyon County Ambulance took Rozeboom to Avera McKennan Hospital. They also took a passenger in the Rozeboom vehicle, 25-year-old Tanner Oleson of Larchwood, to the Sanford USD Medical Center. Both hospitals are in Sioux Falls.

Knape’s Chevy pickup sustained $5000 in damages, and Rozeboom’s Chevy sustained $7000 in damages, which was enough damage to total both vehicles.

Lyon County Sheriff Brian Hilt says the crash remains under investigation.
