Rural Inwood, Iowa — Sheldon isn’t the only place where some students get to have an extra week of summer. The same thing — for the same reason — is taking place at West Lyon Schools between Larchwood and Inwood.
West Lyon Superintendent Shawn Kreman tells us about it.
Mr. Kreman says West Lyon Students will start school on the day after Labor Day, Tuesday, September 2nd. He tells us what contractors hope to get done in that extra week.
We asked Kreman if an extra week is going to be enough time to complete all of that work.
After that, Kreman says there will be work to finish, but most of it should be away from learning areas.
The construction project is the biggest since the West Lyon district was formed and the school was built in 1967. The bond issue for the project passed in November 2023.
