Grace Woelber

Grace A. Woelber, age 88 of George, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Sanford Hospital in Sheldon.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the Jurrens Funeral Home in George, with the Rev. Alex Sloter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in George on Wednesday morning. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery near George.

The Jurrens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Grace A. Woelber.

Grace Ann Woelber was born on July 5, 1937 in Little Rock, IA to parents Ben and Jennie (Venenga) Henrichs. She grew up in Little Rock as an only child and attended Little Rock School. She was united in marriage to Harold C. Woelber on October 26, 1957. Harold and Grace made their home on the Woelber family farm just outside of George, IA. Grace worked as a nurse while growing her family until it was time to become a stay at home farm wife full time.

Grace lived a full life. You could find her baking with her grandchildren, putting puzzles together with Harold, sewing blankets or towels, gardening, or sipping a hot cup of coffee. Grace enjoyed life on the farm; hearing the chatter of her kids, the laughter of her grandchildren, or the sounds of the animals they raised together.

Grace is survived by her children Brian (Char) Woelber of Sheldon, IA, Elaine (Doug) Cherry of Larchwood, IA, Loren Woelber of George, IA, Linda Woelber (Ed Hoekstra) of Tucson, AZ, Sharon Stevenson of Sheldon, IA, Bruce Woelber of George, IA and Becky DeYoung of Trip, SD; She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, and an infant daughter.
