Bette June Klatt age 91 of Sibley, IA died Monday, May 5, 2014 at Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 9that First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Terry Simm officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, May 8th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

Bette June Klatt was born on June 15, 1922 at Ashton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ida (Rahfalds) Schaa. She was raised in the Ashton area and attended Gilman Township Country School. She attended Ashton High School for two years and graduated from the Sibley High School in 1939.
She worked at various jobs Sibley prior to her marriage to Lloyd Klatt on September 11, 1940. They were united in marriage at the Presbyterian Parsonage by Rev. Rotschafer. Two children were born to this union, Judy Kay and Dennis Lloyd. She worked as supervisor at the Keith Merrick Company for 12 years, and was the office manager and bookkeeper at the Thermogas Company of Sibley for 22 years. She retired in 1985. They wintered in Texas for 2 years. When their daughter became ill they took care of her and her family until Judy passed away. They did a lot of volunteer work at their church and at dinner date. Bette was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, the P.W, serving as Treasurer and also the Sarah Circle.
Bette is survived by her son, Dennis and wife, Cynthia Klatt of Sheldon, IA; her son-in-law, Jim and wife, Linda Hindt of Rockwell City, IA; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Schaa of Folsom, CA; and special little friend, Jacob Nasers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Schaa; her daughter, Judy Kay Hindt; a sister, Irene Morgan; and two brothers, Marvin and Vernon Schaa; great-great-grandson, Joseph Blades; and two sisters-in-law, Darlene Schaa and Catherine Schaa.
