Darlene Kempema, age 92, passed away on Thursday, April 3rd, at the Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley. Private family burial will be held in the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls.
The Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
Darlene Margaret Kempema, age 92, was born on November 4, 1932, in Sioux Center, IA, the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Poppen) Van Putten. Darlene married Corneilus “Neil” Kempema on August 10, 1951, in Reading, MN.
She is survived by her three children, Connie Vander Naald of Huntington Beach, CA, Randall Kempema of Worthington, MN, and Donna (David) Bootsma of Harris, IA; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Ken Van Putten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil; parents; son in law, Hank Vander Naald; and two brothers, Clarence and Stanley Van Putten.
