Delores Popema, age 96 of Sanborn, passed away at Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn on Saturday, Sept. 28th. Her son, Kenneth Heitritter, age 75 of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte on Sunday, September 29th.
A joint memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at the First Reformed Church in Sanborn. Visitation will also be held at the First Reformed Church in Sanborn on Friday, October 4th from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.; family will be present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a short “Family Sharing” time at 7:00 p.m. after the visitation.
Delores’ burial will take place at 9:45 a.m., prior to the service on Saturday; Ken’s will be at a later date, both at Baker Township Cemetery near Melvin, IA. The Sanborn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for 96 year-old Delores Popma of Sanborn, IA, and 75 year-old Ken Heitritter of Port Charlotte, FL.
