George Glen Abels, age 96, died on Friday, January 15, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Home in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., at the Lakeside Church in Worthington, MN. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
George is survived by his two sons, Gaylen (Cheryl) Abels of Sioux Falls, SD and Byron Abels of San Francisco, CA; five grandsons; one granddaughter; eight great grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, Gladys Schneiderman of George, IA, Verna Schneiderman, of Little Rock, IA, Ferne Schneiderman of Worthington, MN, and Maria Schneiderman of Marion, IA; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Judy) Schneiderman of Marion, IA and Aaron Rust of Worthington, MN, as well as many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents, George and Carrie; two brothers, John and Harm, and one sister, Hattie.
