Kenneth W. Winter

Funeral-male (1)Kenneth W. Winter, 88 of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 in Omaha.  Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Morningside Lutheran Church with Reverend Darrin Vick officiating.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation, with the family, will be one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the church.  Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel has assisted the family with arrangements.

Kenneth was born on February 16, 1925 in Boyden, Iowa, to William and Marie (Reyelts) Winter.  He graduated from Boyden High School before serving his country in the United States Army at the end of WWII.  Kenneth married Velma Feldman on August 15, 1949 in George, Iowa.  Kenneth worked as a postal worker with the United States Postal Service in Sioux City until his retirement in 1985.  He was a member of the Morningside Lutheran Church.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter Marilyn DeJong and her husband Leon of Omaha; son Keith Winter of Maple Grove, MN; brother Lloyd Winter and his wife Arles of Boyden, IA; grandchildren Jonathan DeJong and Rebecca Walters and her husband Kevin; and Great-Granddaughter Genevieve Walters.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, wife Velma in 1998, one brother, and three sisters.
