Lorraine Rensink Lange

Lorraine Rensink Lange, age 67 of Baraboo, WI died from complications of amyloidosis, on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at St. Claire Hospice House in Baraboo.

There will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at First Methodist Church in Baraboo with Reverend Donna Miller officiating. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service at the church.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Jurrens Funeral Home in Ashton, IA, with Reverend Dale Lint officiating. Burial will follow in Gilman Township Cemetery in Ashton, IA.

Visitation will be Monday, December 16th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jurrens Funeral Home in Ashton, IA, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Lorraine Rae Rensink was born in Ashton, IA on September 1, 1946 to Lawrence and Elaine Rensink. She attended Ashton Public School and graduated from Sheldon High School, Sheldon, IA in 1964. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA in 1968 with a degree in Music Education with an emphasis on piano. Lorraine taught music education at Marquette Elementary in Davenport, from 1968 thru 1970. She married Jim Bowerman in August of 1969. They lived in Crailsheim, Germany from 1971 thru 1972. Returning to the United States, Lorraine taught elementary music in LeClaire, IA from 1972 thru 1978. She moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1978 and worked at CNA Insurance from 1978 to 2001. Lorraine married Robert Lange in July, 1989. Lorraine was an insurance customer service representative for the rest of her career, retiring in 2010.
Lorraine was a member of the First Methodist Church of Baraboo. She was a gifted pianist and organist and avid hiker and cross country skier. She was a long time member of the Ice Age Trail organization. She enjoyed good books, music, gardening, cooking, long friendships and especially creating a new and beautiful quilt. Lorraine faced the challenge of her long and difficult illness with courage, determination, great strength and grace. She was a beloved daughter and a cherished big sister to her brother Paul Rensink and sister Ruth Rensink.
Lorraine appreciated the exceptional care and support of her many friends and family during the last stage of her illness. Her family would like to especially thank her Baraboo friends and church family for their unceasing love and kindness. A bright light has been extinguished, but a strong spirit is now free.

Lorraine is survived by her brother, Paul Rensink of Spirit Lake, IA and her sister, Ruth Rensink of Eden Prairie, MN, her step-children, Lindi (Steve) Zawlocki and Brad Lange, step-grandsons, Josh, Zach and John, and her beloved cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elaine Evelyn Arnold Rensink and Lawrence Rensink of Ashton, IA.
