Myrtle “Myr” King, age 83 of Sheldon, previously of Sibley, passed away Monday, January 26th, at Sanford Hospital in Sheldon.
Services are pending with Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.
Myrtle “Myr” Frances King was born November 13, 1942, the daughter of Warren and Louise (Traphagen) Brandt. She grew up in Adrian, Minnesota and graduated from Adrian High School.
She was united in marriage to Edward “Tiny” King on August 31, 1968, at Zion Lutheran Church in Adrian. They made their home in Sibley, Iowa along with many fur children throughout their years.
Myrtle worked at Campbell Soup Company in Worthington, Minnesota for almost 20 years and Chase Bag factory in Sibley until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, being a caregiver, shopping, antiquing, pet sitting, and visiting friends. She loved animals, especially her dogs, Maggie and Zoey. She also liked spending time with her family and close friend Sandy.
She is survived by her siblings, Judy Rud of Rochester, MN and Michael Brandt of Worthington, MN; special friend, Sandy Johannes of Sheldon, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Louise; husband, Edward in 1995; brothers, John Brandt, David Brandt; and sister Kathleen Hardman.
