Nancy Ann (Lyman) Beckmann of Brainerd, MN, formerly of Sibley, passed away, surrounded by her children on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 74 years of age.
A time for visiting, with some sweet treats will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 10AM at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center. The celebration of life will begin at 11AM. Burial will be private.
The Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for 74-year-old Nancy Ann (Lyman) Beckman, of Brainerd MN, formerly of Sibley.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Joyce (Newkirk) Lyman of Sibley, IA; children: Jerry (Jean) Beckmann of Baxter, MN, Jodi (Chris) Philen of Nisswa, MN, and Emily (Tim) Gilbertson of Belton, MO; 10 grandchildren: James, Jacob, and Aimee (Phil); Megan (Brandon), Mandy, and Brady; Alaina, Julia, Hanna, and Thomas; four great grandchildren; Owen, Aiden, Alivia, and Ethan; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Evelyn Lyman of Hull, IA; former spouse, James Beckmann; and numerous other relatives and friends.Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Duane Lyman.
Nancy was retired from the Brainerd school district, spending nearly 25 years at Baxter Elementary School as a kindergarten teacher’s assistant. Nancy loved every student, leaving a lasting impression on so many children. She enjoyed bowling, boating, attending church, volunteering, walking, baking cookies, and the Minnesota Vikings!
Nancy’s children wish to extend a special thank you to staff at St. Croix Hospice and Harmony House of Brainerd for their care and compassion while she was under their care.
