Paul Ring age 48 of Rock Rapids, IA died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at his residence in Rock Rapids, IA.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14th at the United Methodist Church in Rock Rapids with Rev. Dean Shelly officiating.
Family will be receiving friends on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.

Paul Andrew Ring was born December 18, 1964 at Golden Valley, Minnesota, the son of Barbara Jean (Noyes) and David Charles Ring. Paul grew up in Robinsdale, where he attended school. He graduated from Robinsdale Cooper High School in 1983. He then continued his education at North Hennepin Community College. He then began working for NSP in the Minneapolis area. Paul met Heather King in the twin cities and were engaged six weeks later. They were united in marriage on February 3, 1989 at St. Paul, MN. They made their home Mound, MN. During this time Paul became very active with the IBEW 160 Union. In 2000 Paul was transferred to Sioux Falls, SD and made their home in Rock Rapids, IA. In September of 2000 Paul medically retired from NSP, after brain injuries from a work related accident.
Paul was a loving father and most of all he treasured his family and his time spent with them. He enjoyed riding motorcycle and horses along with playing golf. For several years, Paul served as the “Papa Lion” for the Central Lyon School District. Paul became active as a lay minister and was very passionate about his faith. He participated with the Tuesday morning prayer group at the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Church Youth Group.
He is survived by his daughters, Cassandra Elizabeth Ring of Burnsville, MN; Hanna Jean Ring of West Des Moines, IA and Davi Grace Ring of Spirit Lake, IA; his ex-wife, Heather of Sioux Falls, SD; mother, Barbara Ring of Clearwater, MN; brothers, Mark (Judy) Ring, Robert (Lisa) Ring, and Gregory Ring; a sister, Angela (Matthew) Ring-Rouilland; special friend, Dawn Ring; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, David and a sister-in-law, Pamela Ring.
