Hull, Iowa — The #2 Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley Nighthawks defeated the #5 West Sioux Falcons 42-16 Friday night at A.R. Hesla Field in Hull.

Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley put up 29 unanswered points in the first half. Elliott Van Kekerix scored on a 1 yard punch with 8:25 to go in the opening quarter, and on the Nighthawk’s following drive, Cody Post was on the receiving end of a 54-yard catch and run to push the score to 15-0 midway in the first.
After a West Sioux fumble, JT Van’t Hul scored from 6 yards out on the QB keeper, and on their next possession, the Nighthawks drove 95 yards down the field which was capped off by an Elliott Van Kekerix 8 yard run. Heading into the half Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley lead 29-0.
Brayton Van Kekerix started off the second half with a 91-yard kickoff return to make it 36-0 thirteen seconds into the third quarter. West Sioux would score two touchdowns and a safety to pull within 36-16, but Eric Salazar ended the contest with a 40-yard fumble return for the touchdown to give us the final of 42-16.
Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley improves to 1-0 on the year, and will take on Western Christian next Friday in Hull. West Sioux falls to 0-1 on the year, and will play host to Central Lyon/George Little Rock.
