In September the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union Board of Directors approved moving from five classes to four classes in golf for the 2018 season. The 2018 State Golf Tournament will be played Tuesday and Wednesday, May 29-30.
Below are the four State Tournament locations:
-Class 1A State Golf site is American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown
-Class 2A State Golf site is Lake Panorama National in Panora
-Class 3A State Golf site is Coldwater Links in Ames
-Class 4A State Golf site is Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown
As a reminder, there will be five regional final sites per class, with the top two finishers from each regional final site advancing to the State Tournament (10 teams advancing per class). In addition to this, the top eight individuals from each regional final site will advance to the state tournament, regardless of team affiliation. Below is the four-class breakdown:
4A – 50 largest schools
3A – 60 next largest schools
2A – 80 next largest schools
1A – Remaining schools (approximately 120)
