KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Baptist remains at No. 1 in the preseason edition of the 2021 NAIA Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll after winning the 2020 national title.
5 GPAC teams are in the top 10. Jamestown is in the two spot, Midland follows at 3, Dordt is in the rankings at 5, Concordia is 7th and Northwestern rounds out the top 10. Dakota Wesleyan received votes.
The Defenders finished last season with a record of 18-7 (11-5) and an NAIA Final Four appearance. Dordt opens their season at Morningside on August 25.
The Raiders are coming off a 22-5 record season last season, going 13-3 in GPAC. With the second-place finish in the GPAC, the squad picked up three wins in the NAIA national tournament, defeating Trinity Christian (3-0), Oklahoma City (3-2), and Corban (3-0); before dropping a four-set match to eventual national runners-up, Midland, in the national quarterfinals.
