The 2022 Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association banquet was held recently and a number of area individuals were recognized.
In the coaches category doing double duty this past season Brian Wede head coach at MOC Floyd Valley and Northwestern College joined the 500 win club. Andy Osborne from Bishop Heelan became a member of the 400 win club this past season.
District Coach of the Year Awards included three from the KIWA listening area. 1A District Northwest is Dean Harpenau (Remsen St. Mary’s), 2A District Northwest – Marlin Schoonhoven (Unity Christian) and 3A District Northwest – Brian Wede (MOC-FV).
Recognized for 15 years of service was Cale Kramer of Hinton. Media Award winner for the West District was Scott Byers from the Northwest Iowa Review.
