A Dordt Defender earns GPAC Football Player-of-the-Week honors

Sioux City, Iowa – A member of the Dordt University football team has been named a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Player-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Monday, October 6th.

Stephen Leinen of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Leinen, a junior from Harlan, Iowa, converted field goals of 44, 60 and 47 yards and hit the upright on a try from 56. He also was 6-for-6 on PATs and scored 15 points in Dordt’s 51-0 win over Briar Cliff.

The 60-yard field goal bettered his school record of 58 set two years ago. The Defenders will travel to Waldorf on October 11th. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m.
