A Red Raider earns GPAC Football Player-of-the-Week honors

Sioux City, Iowa – A Northwestern College Red Raider has been named a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Football Player-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Monday, October 13th.

Linebacker Jackson Smythe of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Smythe, a sophomore from Tea, South Dakota, led the Red Raiders with a career-high nine tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss, helping Northwestern College to a 28-0 shutout.

He leads Northwestern with 39 tackles on the year, on a defense that has shutout its opponents in all three wins this year. The Red Raiders host Morningside on October 18. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
