Sioux City, Iowa – A Northwestern College men’s basketball player has been named as a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week as announced by the GPAC Wednesday, Nov. 4th.
Alex Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men’s basketball offensive player-of-the-week. Van Kalsbeek, a junior from Orange City, Iowa, helped the Raiders to two wins at “The Show” in Tennessee this week, including a win in a top-10 matchup over No. 9 Cumberlands. He scored 26 against the Patriots, adding eight boards and four blocks. In Saturday’s win over Bluefield, Van Kalsbeek recorded a double-double with 28 points and 16 rebounds.
