Statewide, Iowa – The All-District Volleyball teams were released by the Iowa Girls’ Coaches’ Association Tuesday, November 18th, and a number of area athletes as well as coaches were selected.
Named to the Class 4A West team were Maryn Franken a junior from Sioux Center, Kaitlyn Hardie a junior from Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Brielle Hoegh a sophomore from MOC-Floyd Valley, Taylor Holverson a junior from Sioux Center, Ireland Jackson a senior from Bishop Heelan, Ady Jeltema a senior from MOC-Floyd Valley, Dara Mollet a junior from Bishop Heelan, Courteney Schmidt a senior from Sioux Center, Melina Snoozy a junior from Bishop Heelan and Bre Van Den Top from Sergeant Bluff-Luton.
Julie Oldenkamp of Sioux Center was named Coach of the Year in Class 4A West.
Named as an All-District Player in Class 3A West team were Jaida Barrow a senior from Unity Christian, Deidra Doeden a junior from Cherokee, Breslyn Kooima a junior from Western Christian, Morgan Kooiman a sophomore from Western Christian, Ellana Mortenson a junior from Cherokee, Maggie Van Schepen a senior from Western Christian, Scarlett Winterfeld a senior from Western Christian and Addy Wolfswinkel a junior from Cherokee.
Named as an All-District Player in the Class 2A Northwest team were Hayden Berkland a senior from Alta-Aurelia, Bailey Boeve a senior from Hinton, Braylyn Childress a senior from West Lyon, Ellianna Hoefert a junior from Central Lyon, Katie Hoefling a senior from Hinton, Calista Joyce a senior from Emmetsburg, Karlyn Kovarna a senior from Hinton, Kadence Langschwager a senior from Alta-Aurelia, Natalie Leusink a junior from Rock Valley, Aryah McDonald a senior from Rock Valley, Nora Nelson a senior from Emmetsburg, Elsie Oedekoven a senior from Central Lyon and Rachel Schany a senior from Emmetsburg.
Robin Mohr and Kate Ortegren of Hinton were named as Co-Coaches of the Year in the Class 2A Northwest division.
Named to the Class 1A Northwest team were Hallie Bunkers a junior from Remsen-St. Mary’s, Addi Castle a sophomore from Gehlen Catholic, Kenzie Cross a sophomore from Woodbury Central, Addi Foster a senior at Kingsley-Pierson, Grace Gales a senior at Remsen St. Mary’s, Lindsey Haken a senior from George-Little Rock, Carlee Holmes a junior from Siouxland Christian, Elsie Hough a junior from Boyden-Hull, Raegan Plagge a junior from South O’Brien, Kate Solbeg a senior from Akron-Westfield, Viktoria Storm a junior from George-Little Rock, and Makenzie Rubida a senior from Siouxland Christian.
Stacy Bunkers from Remsen St. Mary’s was named at Coach of the Yearin the Class 1A Northwest division.
