Andrew Van Ginkel Earns Roster Spot With Dolphins

Northwest Iowa — Former Boyden Hull Rock Valley Nighthawk Andrew Van Ginkel has earned a spot on the Miami Dolphins 53-man roster.

Missing the majority of his rookie season with the Dolphins last year, Van Ginkel contributed down the stretch in 2019. Van Ginkel had 15 tackles including 4 for a loss, with 7 coming within 2 yards of the line of scrimmage in his first season. He pressured the quarterback 6 times and notched his first NFL sack against the Jets in week 14 of the season.

The Dolphins selected Van Ginkel in the fifth round of the 2019 draft out of the University of Wisconsin with the 151st selection overall. Van Ginkel was the 20th of the 36 linebackers taken in the draft that year.
