Area Officials to be Recognized Saturday April 29th

ihsaa_officeDes Moines Iowa —  One hundred sixty-six prep officials will be honored at the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s 23rd Annual Officials Recognition Banquet and Awards Ceremony, Saturday, April 29 at Iowa Events Center – Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines.

Festivities will start with a 5:30 p.m. social hour in the Hall of Pride followed by dinner, a featured speaker and the Awards Program. Seventy-eight officials will receive plaques for 15 years of service with 30 being honored for 25 years of work and 26 will receive a plaque for 35 years of officiating. Among those being honored for 50 years will be Craig Snider of Spirit Lake.

15 year honorees include Curt Strouth of Sheldon, Brian Cole of Paullina, Alan Loutsch of Remsen, Jade Beehler of Spencer and Steven Sieperda of Rock Rapids. 35 year honorees include Mark Brighton and Jerry Moster of Marcus.

The aspiring new officials include Beth Woodall of Sutherland representing the Northwest District. In the Official of the year category Curtis Anderson of Paullina was named for girls cross country.
